How much courage does it take,,,
to criticize Bush on TH?
to call the illegal immigration bill “amnesty”?
to blame the GOP?
to call for the impeachment of Bush?
to agree with the bullies of TH…to add your post to theirs?
to talk about a 3rd party and politicians that listen to the “base”?
The answer is “not a lot”
Now answer the opposite:
to praise Bush?
to want realistic border control that has a real shot at working?
to support the only party that wants to win the WOT?
to disagree—and keep disagreeing even if the bullies and all their minions gang up on you?
to PROUDLY admit to being a part of, not using the GOP?
For everyone that ever began to express themselves on the blogs by disagreeing with the popular sentiment…you learned really quickly how hard the last 5 is.
For months…day in and day out, the two sisters (Sandra & Sheila) did exactly that…and now
one of those bullies is saying that one of the woman wasn’t “tough” enough to take it because she elected to go elsewhere.
I thought of this man saying something truly unforgivable..."You raised 9/11 against the altar at which all else must bow. I'm sorry, I don't agree. Yes, 3000 people were killed, and that's quite a tragedy. But there are 200 million people in this country and some things are simply bigger than a bunch of Islamic fanatics running around raising some h**l."
I published this quote when this man started to make friends with a vet...the old, "we're on the same side" buddy deal. Naturally, this vet and a whole bunch of people went balistic with the attempt at the end of the quote to make the WOT inconsequential to everything else (in this case gun rights and border control)...until I revealed who wrote it.
And then this vet and the others got quiet.
No one attacked the man.
No wonder he thinks it’s easy to go against the tide…very few people are willing to do so.
I, of course have, twice...but unlike the sisters…I am not a Conservative nor a Republican. I happen to lean Right and vote GOP because I’m not an idiot; I KNOW which of the two viable parties will fight the WOT and give my issues a hearing. I also make no pretense at being nice; I’m not here to make buddies, and I am very use to standing on principles that are worth dying for—alone.
For me, I lose nothing by disagreeing and angering people. For the nice sisters, I suspect it has been difficult…they seem to genuinely care about the party and the people here at TH.
They are—people of True Grit.
**This is a revision, this blog obviously dislikes Word and I lost and rewrote sections. Also I'm not mentioning the man by name because I won't promote him, period. The sisters' blogs are listed in my blog roll under "A word to the wise" and "One eighty".
